This policy explains how the Apolla websites use cookies and similar browser storage (localStorage), and how you can manage them. It forms part of our Privacy policy.
Three categories
Necessary (always on). Required for the site to work and never used for tracking: theme (your light/dark preference), locale-suggestion-dismissed (whether you closed the language suggestion bar), cookie-consent (your consent choice on the global site, with version and timestamp) and analytics-opt-out (whether you disabled analytics on the China site).
Analytics (off by default). Used to understand page views, referrer types and approximate region so we can improve content. Data is anonymized and contains no names, emails or full IP addresses. The China site uses a self-hosted PostHog instance inside mainland China; the global site uses PostHog Cloud EU or a self-hosted instance. Until you accept, the analytics script is not loaded at all.
Marketing (off by default, not in use). We currently use no marketing or advertising cookies. If this ever changes we will update this policy and ask for consent again on the global site.
Third-party cookies
Bot protection (Aliyun Captcha on the China site, Cloudflare Turnstile on the global site) and error monitoring (Sentry) may set their own cookies, handled under their respective privacy policies.
How to change your choice
On the global site a consent banner offers "Accept all", "Necessary only" and "Customize" with equal prominence; you can reopen it any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. On the China site there is no banner: a one-line notice appears on first visit and the footer "Privacy settings" link lets you turn analytics on or off. You can also clear or block storage in your browser settings, at the cost of losing your theme and language preferences.
Updates
We may revise this policy when features or legal requirements change and will update the "last updated" date above. New storage categories or new third parties trigger a fresh consent request on the global site.
